Cyber Eyes IV by DouglasN Cyber Eyes IV by DouglasN
Eyes are a point of fascination to me. I'm a huge fan of Shadowrun (the pen & paper role playing game). In this game, you can enhance your eyes, or even replace them completely with artificial, digital eyes. These can magnify, record, see infrared... they're awesome.

I think to manipulate the mirror of the soul in such a profound way is part perversion and part transcendence. If we are not completely human anymore, have we not remade ourselves in our own image?

Another in the series of cyber eyes. You might ask, where's number III? Well, I'm totally unhappy with how it's turned out, so it's waiting to be remade.

I've used Winter Chill [link] as a base, where jacobz [link] took a picture of JoeleneyBeaney [link] and also did did quite a bit of editing on it. I basically just did my cyber eye thingie. :) Thanks for letting me use this!

Usually, I really prefer to work with unedited high-resolution versions, but in this case I couldn't have done the post-shot editing better anyway, and for what I wanted to do I didn't need to change the resolution.

Strangely, it's turned out less alien and threatening than cyber eyes are rumored to be, maybe because of the blue tone instead of the cold metal shine.

Oh well, maybe it's more like a cosmetic or recreational implant. The kind where sensors in your eye capture and analyze reflexive facial expressions for emotional content. Some kind of flirtware - you can instantly tell when you've hit a soft spot in your target of seduction. Also useful at poker.

As JoeleneyBeanie and jacobz own the rights to the original art work, I can't put it under a creative commons license. I hope you understand. I also left Jacobs signature alone on the picture, because I don't feel it would help the picture if my name stood there too, possibly even a different font and whatnot.

Looks awesome! One little tip, when you put the color for the center of the eye, use the gaussian blur tool and blur it just a bit, makes it look even better and a bit more natura. :D

Thanks for the compliment and the hint! I'm very bad with gaussian blur, but I think you're right. I'll try next time. :)

I'm so glad you like it. I would so hate to put something up that the original artists hated, I might even remove it.
